As sad as I am to see Borders closing down at our local shopping centre, I was VERY excited to pick up some lovely 'housie' books today at 40% off. The rain has set in, the kids are 'sort of' quiet and the cuppa is ready... a perfect way to spend the afternoon (ssshhh!).
Cottage Makeover
As many of you know we recently purchased a new project, (keep the wife out of the shops project), which is a cute little house on a beautiful block backing onto a golf course in Sydney's North Shore.
We'll be building a new house, but in the meantime, it's all about the garden and the gorgeous little Potters Cottage down the back. My job for the next couple of weeks is to give it a facelift. I wanted to show you the BEFORE shots, and in a few weeks (hopefully not months) I'll show you the AFTER shots.

The colour scheme so far (ignore bricks and roof tile - more on that later):
Exterior Paint: Woodland Grey (Colorbond)
Exterior Door: Bushland (Colorbond)
The Plan;
Exterior Floor: Deck Oil
Exterior Roof: Black
Interior Floor: 6 inch rustic timber faux floorboards (Lino) - from Bunnings.
Ultimately it will be the kids playroom, I'm only fantasizing about it being 'my cottage' (at least for another decade).
Interior Fitout: whatever I can find that won't cost us any money. Which sounds very much like something my husband would say (and does say often)!
The inspiration behind the colour choices was to test the waters before we finalize exterior colours for the house we end up building.
