Bedroom Dilemma

I have a MAJOR bedroom styling dilemma! I finally have all my soft furnishings back from various jobs for the year and have had an opportunity to do some styling at home.

This week I dressed the bedroom which I think looks perfect (minus a white linen bedhead which is arriving on Tuesday). The only problem I have is since I've put these lovely wool rugs under the bed my husband has had to retreat to the spare room complaining of asthma.

As tempting as it is to keep the room looking beautiful unfortunately the rugs have had to go (into the shed!), hence the photo... what do you think?

I often wonder at what stage of a long and happy marriage is it appropriate to 'unzip' the king size... not that you don't love you partner any less, not that they have any annoying sleeping habits, not that they steal the blankets... (being a little generous here).

Do you think that's the secret to reaching the 50th Wedding Anniversary?

In case you were wondering, I'm not ready to unzip this week... but at least I can romanticize about how it's going to look.

Here's to reaching 50 years.. only another 41 years to go... and probably as many bedroom makeovers. My favourite is definitely the lilac canopy bedroom.

Hello and welcome....

I've been holding off doing a blog because I was too terrified about what to say... I mean seriously; I have NO followers (until I bribe my husband and some friends) so what does it really matter.

My blog will basically be about 'house porn'... husbands and boyfriends will hate me; I'll just give their wives, girlfriends, mothers, aunties, grandmas and friends ideas for spending money (I know my husband hates it already!).

It's the depth of winter in Sydney, Australia (yeah, I know, hardly winter to some of you), and I'm desperately trying to convince my husband of the worthiness of curtains, any ideas to help my argument? Nonetheless; I'm working on it.

PS... I did buy a new office chair from Officeworks today to inspire my new career in blogging (it's not very sexy for an interior designer, I know) and a bottle of red wine for 'dutch courage' of course...
