She's also lucky enough to have escaped the city and now lives in the Byron Bay Hinterland.

The Renovators

My gorgeous and very talented friend Kirsty from A Cast of Thousands (Masterchef, Farmer Wants a Wife, The Biggest Loser fame!) is casting a new show...

The Renovators is a brand new ‘big event’ TV franchise. From Shine Australia comes the biggest home makeover show ever seen. Amateur home renovators, budding decorators and wannabe developers will battle it out through workshop and off-site challenges, skills tests and eliminations for the right to renovate one of six rundown houses. The ultimate winner will need to survive the Live Auction Finale to take the top prize.

Gawd damn! I knew when I tried on my bikini I'd left my 'get into shape before summer' run too late. Oh well, one can but fantasize and perhaps write off this year. Have a great weekend.

I often wonder at what stage of a long and happy marriage is it appropriate to 'unzip' the king size... not that you don't love you partner any less, not that they have any annoying sleeping habits, not that they steal the blankets... (being a little generous here).

Do you think that's the secret to reaching the 50th Wedding Anniversary?

In case you were wondering, I'm not ready to unzip this week... but at least I can romanticize about how it's going to look.

Here's to reaching 50 years.. only another 41 years to go... and probably as many bedroom makeovers. My favourite is definitely the lilac canopy bedroom.

Flower Markets

I have to say, going to the flower markets is a buzz! As hard as it is getting out of bed at 4.30am (grrrr...) when you get there it's great, it's a hive of activity and not a bleary eye in sight. What gets me though is how fabulous everyone looks, gawd knows what time they set their alarm but I barely make it out of my 'j armies let alone applying mascara... (yesterdays leftover is suffice).

As always I spent $100 more than I needed to, not to mention a very early (still dark) stopover on the way home at Choco Cannelle Patisserie for a delicious chocolate croissant, thanks Mel for introducing me to the lovely Jean Francois Perron, my waistline will never forgive you.
